Festive Gathering

How sweet to come together in the Light and celebrate this season!  We had a healthy and hearty potluck feast . . . homemade goodies including organic salad greens, vegan spinach pies, chana masala and brown rice, oatmeal chocolate chip cookies, and apple cake . . . nourishing drinks like Kombucha and a beautiful, bright, berry juice from the Okanagan.  Thank you everyone for sharing such delicious delights!
Then we practiced the Gratitude Dance–thank you Lisa!  I especially loved the Mudra of scattering rose petals, a delicately tender movement.  The fingers of the right hand flutter forward gracefully, one by one, from the heart’s centre, where the left hand cradles the rose petals.  Reflecting on this symbolic hand gesture, I am reminded that everything–each word, each thought, each action–is an offering straight from the heart.   The Divine Mother Prayer comes to mind:
Oh Divine Mother
May all my speech and idle talk be Mantra
All actions of my hands be Mudra
All eating and drinking be the offering of oblations unto thee.
All lying down prostrations until thee
May all pleasures be as dedicating my entire self unto Thee
May everything I do be taken as Thy worship
After the dance, each of us shared something that we were grateful for and we closed our gathering blissfully singing Bhajans.
Join us on Sundays this holiday season for Community Potluck and/or Satsang.  Come celebrate this festive season in the Light!   Classes will resume in the New Year.
